Today, Lucy was honoured to open the new platform extension and commemorative bench at the Telford Steam Railway.
Lucy is a huge supporter of the railway and the hard-working volunteers whose passion and skills have kept this community asset open to visitors. The platform extension is the culmination of hard work from all involved and will provide for a better experience for visitors for years to come.
The commemorative bench, in honour of local Horsehay resident the late Stephen Morris, is in pride of place and his family were present today to see the bench they had donated in his name.
Lucy Allan MP said:
I was delighted to visit the Steam Railway again to officially open the new platform extension.
The extension, like the rest of the railway, is a product of the hard work and passion of committed volunteers who have kept this wonderful part of our industrial heritage open for future generations.
