Today, Lucy visited Sarah Kaul and her team of volunteers at the All Nations Grocery Store in Ketley. The shop is based in the All Nations Church on Holyhead Road, and aims to tackle poverty by allowing visitors to do a food shop for just £4.
The Community Grocery is run in partnership with The Message Trust and All Nations Church, and in addition to offering affordable groceries, the shop offers wrap around support in different ways to the community.
The organisation runs money courses, life skills lessons, job courses, legal aid support, and cookery classes which teach shoppers how to best use their community grocery ingredients to feed their families.
You can find out more about what’s going on at the community grocery here. The team is staffed almost entirely by volunteers. If you’d like to help out Sarah and her team, you can sign up here here.
