Lucy Allan MP has welcomed Government funding for a Holiday Activities and Food Programme in Telford & Wrekin, aimed at those children in school years 3 - 11 who are in receipt of free school meals or may be at risk of food poverty during the school holidays. The local response has been excellent.
The Government is committed to bridging the gap for families in need over the summer holidays. This funding represents the largest local investment in summer activities, childcare and food provision ever.
Engaging children in activities over the summer holidays means they return to school more confident, healthy and ready to learn.
