Today the Minister for Rough sleeping and Housing visited Telford. Minster Eddie Hughes, MP for Walsall, visited Sanctuary Supported Living Scheme in Ketley and met with residents to hear about the challenges and successes of the scheme. He was accompanied by Lucy Allan MP and the Sanctuary CEO, Craig Moule.
The Minister for Rough Sleeping, Eddie Hughes MP, said:
“It’s been excellent to visit this very high-quality housing scheme that Sanctuary has.
It feels to me that Sanctuary has got a perfect blend of housing that has created a real community feel and, clearly from the residents I’ve spoken to, the residents are engaged with the process and delighted with the service they’re receiving.”
Telford MP Lucy Allan said:
"The Sanctuary scheme is an impressive example of how to meet the needs of people, requiring high quality supported living accommodation. Sanctuary Housing provides affordable housing, promotes home ownership and is also a provider of care homes. Residents often raise with me housing concerns difficulties relating to a range of providers and I can honestly say that Sanctuary residents speak very highly of Sanctuary Housing, the way their concerns are resolved and the service that they receive.
I was able to raise with the Minister the amazing work in Telford done by StayTelford and Maninplace, in supporting the homeless and we discussed the workings of Telford Housing Solutions Team."
Telford & Wrekin Council benefitted from £350m Homeless Prevention Grant announced in December 2020.
