Ahead of the local elections on Thursday, 6th May, Lucy Allan MP has encouraged residents who are voting by post to send off their ballots as soon as possible.
Whilst in-person voting has been made safe across the country, it is anticipated that many people will still prefer to vote by post.
Royal Mail is working around the clock to ensure that all ballots are received by counting stations in good time, and is encouraging voters to return their postal votes over the Bank Holiday weekend.
You can use any Royal Mail postbox to send off your completed ballot form. Voters can also use one of the 35,000 Priority postboxes around the country, which are emptied later in the day. Of these, 15,000 will be emptied on Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday. To find the nearest postbox voters should click here.
Postal votes must reach the relevant local authority by 10pm on polling day or they will not be counted. Royal Mail recommend that voters post their completed ballot packs by Tuesday, 4th May.
Ballot papers can also be handed into polling stations and local authorities on Thursday, 6th May before 10pm.
Lucy encourages all postal voters to send off their completed ballots as soon as possible so that vote counters can begin as efficiently as possible once the ballots have closed.
