Following the industrial fire in Ketley, Telford MP Lucy Allan has issued a statement:
"The fire at Greenway Polymers in Ketley - formerly known as Pink Skips is a serious concern. Major industrial fires can pose significant environmental health risks and the smoke can be dangerous. As a precaution there have been some school closures in the area.
I would like to thank the fire brigade and incident commander for their hard work tackling the blaze. The health, safety and wellbeing of my constituents is my highest priority and I will be working closely with the authorities and monitoring the response to this fire, given the importance of concerns raised about the blaze.
I have asked for a full briefing at the earliest opportunity with Telford & Wrekin Council and local fire chiefs and to be able to relay my residents needs and concerns about this serious incident."
