Following the recent cold weather, the Department for Work and Pensions have issued an alert in Telford, ensuring that eligible households will receive a £25 payment towards the cost of their heating bills.
Eligible households include those who are in receipt of:
- Pension Credit
- Income Support
- income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
- income-related Employment and Support Allowance
- Universal Credit
- Support for Mortgage Interest
To trigger the payments, the average temperature at a specified weather station must be recorded as, or forecast to be, 0°C or below for seven consecutive days. In Telford, the alert was triggered at Shawbury Weather Station on 8/2/2021 for the period 7/2/2021 - 13/2/2021.
As a result £25 will be paid to eligible residents within Telford constituency with postcodes beginning: TF1, TF2, TF3, TF4, TF7, TF8, TF11 and TF12.
