Commenting, Lucy Allan MP said:
“This year has been incredibly difficult for businesses in Telford and across Shropshire. It is more important than ever that we celebrate the success and innovation that has kept our economy going during these difficult times.
I want to congratulate all those nominated for an award, particularly those based in Telford including Zen Communications, Reconomy and Crown Plus. I also welcome the introduction of several new categories including Digital Innovation and Education & Apprenticeships which reflect the way businesses have adapted in response to the pandemic.
Shropshire continues to set the standard for success and innovation within the business community, and I look forward to cheering on our Telford nominees at the virtual ceremony.”
Shropshire Chamber Chief Executive Richard Sheenan said:
“We originally had plans for our largest ever awards event this summer, including a huge conference and exhibition, to mark the competition’s 20th anniversary.
Clearly, this wasn’t possible in the current climate, but we were determined to create some form of event to reflect the amazing resilience and achievements of Shropshire businesses.
We may only be crowning our winners virtually, instead of in person, but these awards will still deliver the usual top-level showcase for the amazing companies we have across all corners of our county.”
