Many constituents have contacted Lucy Allan MP to ask about the return of fans to AFC Telford United games. Lucy fully supports football stadiums being allowed to reopen safely as soon as possible - with social distancing implemented.
AFC Telford United is a great club which has done such good work for the wider Telford community.
Lucy has written to the Sports Minister, Nigel Huddleston MP to request fans be allowed to return to the club’s grounds. She has also confirmed that she will continue to lobby Government closely on this issue.
The Government is liaising with sports clubs to ensure their reopening as soon as possible. Unfortunately, this has taken longer than hoped for, but the current Medical advice strongly advises against holding large sports events, especially given the rise in cases across the UK.
