Future Fit is a highly controversial hospital reconfiguration plan, put forward by NHS management, which would see Telford's Princess Royal Hospital lose 24/7 A&E Services and its Women and Children's Centre to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, some 30-45 minutes drive from central Telford.
Lucy Allan said: "Telford needs its 24/7 A&E and its Women and Children's Centre. I urge people in Telford to support and share this CrowdJustice campaign. A legal challenge will ensure that the NHS management responsible for this decision must now consider the needs of our rapidly growing town, which they have so far failed to do."
"I will continue to work with the Health Secretary on the A&E Local concept, which he has proposed as a possible solution. However, at this stage it's clear that NHS Management will not support 24/7 A&E at Princess Royal. A record £312m has been made available for our hospital services in Shropshire. A legal challenge will bring NHS management to the table and require them to think again when it comes to meeting Telford's needs."
