The Rt Hon Robert Jenrick MP, Secretary of State for Housing and Local Government will be visiting Telford on Tuesday 25th August. He will be visiting new build developments, meeting developers, residents and Bournville Village Trust, which manages Lawley Village and Lightmoor Village.
Telford's MP Lucy Allan MP, who is Chair of All Party Parliamentary Group for New Towns said: "Telford is a New Town with a huge amount of new build development going on. Developers activities, access roads, unadopted roads, lack of local infrastructure, management charges, these are all issues that affect very many people in my Constituency.
"I raise these issues frequently in Parliament, so I am very pleased that the Secretary of State for Housing and Local Government has agreed to come to Telford so he can find out more first hand. I will be raising the issues around Lawley Village development, the impact on Dawley Bank residents and the difficulties experienced in getting the Local Council to properly manage the activities of developers in Telford. Housing development is not a free for all. Developers and the Local Councils need to work together to ensure that the needs of local residents are met.
