Telford schools likely to gain under changes to the national funding formula for schools.
The Government is carrying out a consultation on proposed changes to the national schools funding formula. The purpose of the change is to introduce a system that reflects the need of an area, a school and pupil characteristics, and is consistent across the the country. Schools in Telford & Wrekin Borough are set to see an overall increase of 2.2%.
The consultation closes on 22nd March 2017 and further information is here.
Lucy Allan said: "Although numbers are indicative at present and are intended to be illustrative of how the new formula would work, I am pleased to see that almost all Telford schools will see a modest increase in funding. A system that more fairly reflects need and gives a consistent approach across the country is welcome."
