A £1.4 million MRI scanner has now arrived at Telford’s Community Diagnostic Centre in Hollinswood House. The Community Diagnostic Centre is the first of its kind in Shropshire and will accelerate appointments and cut the surgical backlog in Telford.
Throughout her time as a Member of Parliament, Lucy has been lobbying Government for more funding for the Princess Royal Hospital and healthcare in Telford. The CDC has received in excess of £10 million from central Government to fund its state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment.
Lucy Allan MP said:
“Telford’s Community Diagnostic Centre is a key part of the new healthcare facilities being invested in across Telford. The new MRI scanner is some of the best medical technology available anywhere in the world.
The Princess Royal recently received £24 million for a new planned care hub, £21 million from Government for new beds this winter and £10 million for a new surgical hub.
The investments being made will help to significantly improve the care my constituents can expect at their local hospital. Ultimately, we need to unlock the £312 million earmarked for the Hospital Transformation programme or we are only making small improvements where a comprehensive shovel-ready plan is ready to go.”
