Lucy Allan MP has today welcomed the confirmation of £24 million funding for a new planned care hub at the princess Royal Hospital in Telford.
The new centre will provide more beds and surgical theatres to accelerate the progress in tackling waiting lists that have left my residents waiting months or years for an operation.
The new planned care hub is expected to open to patients in Summer 2023, with work already underway to develop the facility.
Lucy Allan MP said:
I am pleased that work is now underway to develop the new planned care hub, which promises to expedite waiting times for planned care.
Many of my constituents are rightly unhappy that they have become part of a huge backlog of operations following the pandemic, and this is something I have been campaigning on for many months.
The new hub is a real step towards tackling the backlogs and ensuring that Telford residents can expect to receive the surgery they need in reasonable time.
