Lucy Allan MP has welcomed the Government’s Family Hubs programme, which will establish crucial family services at the heart of the community. This is a major step towards supporting families and children in Telford.
The Government will commit £300 million to 75 local authorities across England to provide support for families and children through the Family Hubs scheme. A further £12 million will be allocated to support 12 further local authorities to establish new Family Hubs.
Each Family Hub will offer services providing support to families including parenting guidance, perinatal mental health, infant feeding and parent-infant relationships.
This delivers on the Government's commitment to develop Family Hubs as essential resources for parents and children.
Lucy Allan MP said:
One of the key priorities I had going into Parliament was to strengthen families so that fewer children were entering into care system. Family Hubs are a crucial community asset and I am pleased that Telford & Wrekin is one of the 75 authorities that will receive Government funding. This will make a huge difference to families in Telford.
