Lucy Allan MP today visited Telford businesses to discuss their response to the Government's Growth Plan and listen to the challenges they face.
Telford is home to many exceptionally successful businesses and Lucy maintains a close dialogue to ensure the needs and concerns of business are met by Government. Lucy regularly visits local businesses to listen to their concerns and seek their feedback. Today Lucy went to Halesfield Industrial Park in Telford, to discuss the recent Budget and Growth Plan statement. Pictured here with Mr Ellis of Wrekin Shell Mouldings.
Generally the Growth Plan was well received and was considered to be pro business and pro growth. The way the Plan was communicated was considered to be hurried and some measures were seen as surprises which would inevitably have made jittery markets more unsettled.
Lucy Allan said: "I am always delighted to meet local businesses and listen to the challenges they face first hand. We have so many innovative and aspirational businesses in Telford that are working hard every day to overcome hurdles and find solutions. Today we talked about energy costs and securing supply, Investment Zones, the Labour market, export opportunities and of course the recent budget. I was pleased to hear support for the Growth Plan and a growth agenda. There is no doubt that this Government is seen as pro growth and pro business by Telford business."
