As part of her Friday constituency work, Lucy Allan MP was invited to St George’s C of E Primary School in Telford to meet staff and pupils and give a talk about politics and democracy.
Lucy gave a talk to Key Stage 2 pupils about her role as an MP, democracy in the UK and the importance of voting, tying in with work the children had been doing on British values.
Lucy took questions from the children and was given a tour of the school, which is rated outstanding by Ofsted.
Lucy Allan MP said:
I always look forward to my school visits, where I have the opportunity to talk to the next generation about politics. I am consistently impressed by how knowledgeable the children are and their enthusiasm for learning.
The staff are dedicated to the children and St George’s is an excellent learning environment for its pupils, who are well supported by excellent teachers.
