The Ironbridge Gorge Museums Trust will be giving away 4,000 free tickets to residents in Telford and Wrekin, as part of its annual Festival of Imagination which celebrates local culture and heritage.
To mark the launch of the Festival on 12th September, 1,000 tickets to their flagship attraction, Blists Hill Victorian Town, will be handed out to residents in the TF7, TF8 and TF12 postcodes. A further 1,000 free tickets per day will then be made available to anyone with a TF postcode on the 16th, 17th and 18th September.
The Ironbridge Gorge Museums Trust is a registered educational charity with World Heritage Status, managing 35 historic sites within the Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site. This includes ten museums, two chapels, archaeological sites, housing, Quaker burial grounds, a research library, a tourist information centre, woodland and two youth hostels.
Having experienced severe flood damage in February, then closure during its peak activity period due to Coronavirus, the Trust has been working hard to secure investment and embrace opportunities for innovation. Lucy has been working with the Trust during this time, lobbying Government and other organisations to ensure targeted financial support to help the Trust continue to operate and expand so it can continue to attract visitors.

The Festival of Imagination celebrates the story of Ironbridge as the birthplace of industry, and I welcome the fact that Telford people will be able to experience the magic of Blists Hill for themselves.
