To commemorate Holocaust Memorial Day today, Friday, 27th January, Lucy paid her respects to the victims of genocide by signing Parliament’s Book of Commitment. The Book of Commitment is an opportunity for MPs to pledge their commitment to Holocaust Memorial Day, honouring those who were murdered during the Holocaust and paying tribute to those that survived and committing to fighting against antisemitism and hate today.
This year’s Holocaust Memorial Day commemorates the 78th anniversary of the liberation of the former Nazi concentration and death camp Auschwitz-Birkenau.
Lucy Allan MP said:
Every year I commemorate Holocaust Memorial Day to ensure that the atrocities of the past are not forgotten.
It is our duty as parliamentarians to ensure that we lead by example and continue to learn the lessons of the past whilst working to proactively tackle hate and racism in society.
