This morning, Lucy attended a drop-in MP surgery at a coffee morning to welcome Ukrainian refugees living with families in Telford.
At the surgery, Lucy heard about some of the challenges Ukrainians and their host families were experiencing including school places, NI numbers and visa and passport issues.
Organised by local group Help Ukraine Telford, weekly coffee mornings will be held at Meeting Point House in Southwater for refugees and sponsors to catch up, meet new people and integrate into the community.

Lucy Allan MP said:
I am very grateful to Help Ukraine Telford for inviting me to meet with them at their coffee morning. I was touched by the kindness and generosity of people in Telford opening their homes to refugees fleeing war in Ukraine. It was heart-warming to see that people fleeing their homes have found support and safety in our town.
I listened carefully to the stories and concerns raised by the refugees about their future and will continue liaising with Ministers to ensure that Government continues to facilitate the highest level of support for those forced from their homes by war.
Help Ukraine Telford will be hosting coffee mornings for refugees and sponsors every Friday at Meeting Point House and I would encourage local hosts and refugees to come along.
