Today in Parliament, Lucy Allan MP took part in the coronavirus debate.
Lucy asked the Government to consider the proportionality of its measures, given the massive impact that lockdown and other restrictions have had on businesses and livelihoods, not just in Telford, but across the country.
Lucy has voiced her concerns that the measures imposed on her constituents have had a widely disproportionate impact on their jobs, freedoms and ability to see family and friends.
Whilst it is clear that the measures, when targeted appropriately, have a significant impact on the spread of the virus, Lucy is concerned that many low-risk individuals and low-risk areas are suffering from the blanket nature of restrictions.
Lucy is keen to see MPs have a greater role in the legislation around lockdowns, and more opportunity to debate the nuance of the measures needed to tackle coronavirus.
