Today in Parliament, Lucy asked the Leader of the House to facilitate a statement from the minister for Afghan Resettlement on the status of the resettlement programme.
There are currently two hotels in Telford providing bridging accommodation for refugees before they are allocated housing elsewhere. Lucy met with refugees and was shocked to find that many had not been informed when they would be able to secure a property of their own. Many are still unable to work and have been left in limbo.
The refugees were keen to work and integrate with society but after 7 months in the hotel, Lucy has demanded answers from the Minister on their behalf.
