Today in Parliament, local MP Lucy Allan raised her concerns with Minister of State for Health and Social Care Stephen Hammond MP about the performance of the senior management of Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital Trust (SaTH).
During an urgent question on the Interim report of the NHS People Plan, Ms Allan asked the Minister of State whether the People Plan will ensure that senior management in the NHS will be held to account for their performance.
This comes after the Chief Executive of SaTH announced his departure following a series of failings and mismanagement.
Ms Allan has also applied for a Westminster Hall Debate in Parliament to discuss the accountability of Clinical Commissioning Groups and Health Trusts.
Lucy Allan said:
“It is important that SaTH has a strong leadership team given the many challenges which it is currently facing.
“It was important to raise the tenure of SaTH’s departing Chief Executive with the Health Minister to put on record his performance in failing to deliver for Telford. The new Chief Executive will need to review the flawed Future Fit project and halt all proceedings until a stable management team is in place.”
