Today, Telford's MP, Lucy Allan has written to the Health Secretary Matthew Hancock MP, to raise her concerns about the leadership of the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital Trust (SaTH) and their ability to proceed with Future Fit in the current circumstances.
In her letter, Ms Allan referred to the departure of the Chief Executive of the Hospital Trust and the failings by the Trust and senior leadership to grasp the seriousness of the challenges faced.
Telford's MP made clear in her letter that now is not the time to be forcing through a complex controversial restructuring against the wishes of local people without the Trust attempting to make the case for the proposal and without a stable leadership team.
Ms Allan told the Health Secretary that the Trust needs time to embed a new team to focus on the current challenges, before pursuing any form of disruptive restructuring and urged Matt Hancock to give her comments consideration when deciding the next steps.
