As part of the new budget announced last week, the Chancellor of the Exchequer has announced an investment of £766,400 to fix potholes in Telford.
Potholes are no minor issue: they directly impact residents’ quality-of-life, community pride, and crucially minimise the cost of repairs required for vehicles. It is important to ensure that these quality-of-life improvements remain at the heart of each budget so that residents can see more of the money they pay in tax invested in Telford.
The Government continues to invest millions of pounds into Telford & Wrekin Council and it is vital that they are delivering for residents.
You can report potholes for repair on Telford and Wrekin Council’s website here.
Lucy Allan MP said:
Repairing potholes is a key responsibility of Telford & Wrekin Council and funding of over three-quarters of a million pounds should see significant progress being made.
This investment proves yet again that the Council receives substantial funding from central government, despite the regular complaints of its Leader.
As ever, I will be holding the Council to account for its responsibilities to residents.
