Lucy Allan MP has welcomed the proposed boundary changes announced by the independent Boundary Commission, which sees the constituency of Telford essentially unchanged.
The Commission has redrawn constituency boundaries to account for the changing demographics of many seats, ensuring that seats are now more equal across the country. The last time the boundaries were changed were under the last Labour government in the early 2000s. The new boundaries will be fairer and more democratic, better reflecting the population of the UK, which has changed significantly over the past decade.
Telford’s population growth since the last boundary review means it now perfectly meets the recommended population size and so no significant changes are required.
