Lucy Allan MP has welcomed confirmation provided to families affected by maternity malpractice at the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital Trust (SaTH) that the Ockenden review would be released on 30th March.
Releasing the report on this date during the parliamentary session will allow local MPs to put questions to Health Ministers and seek answers on behalf of affected families. Lucy had asked the Leader of the House of Commons to ensure that the review was not delayed into recess as it would have limited the ability of MPs to scrutinise its contents.
Last night, Lucy spoke to Health Minister Maria Caulfield with other Shropshire MPs to secure assurances that the Government would respond in full to the review and send a Minister to the House to discuss the changes that must be implemented to ensure that maternity malpractice is tackled in Shropshire, Telford and across the country.
