Today on GB News, Lucy Allan MP spoke to host Arlene Foster about the culture of defensiveness that prevented families from getting the answers they were entitled to about maternity care at the Shrewsbury and Telford hospital Trust.
Lucy has been campaigning for greater accountability in the NHS, particularly at senior level, to ensure that poor care cannot be ignored by decision makers and executives.
The Secretary of State for Health, Sajid Javid MP, has given assurances to the House of Commons that individuals found responsible of wrongdoing would be held to account.
Lucy Allan MP said:
There was an institutional blindness at the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital Trust that was normalising poor care rather than of identifying a learning opportunity.
Who is it that should be holding the NHS to account?
