Lucy Allan MP and many others have shown their support for Justice Week 2020, a week-long campaign to help highlight the law and our justice system. Lucy met with the Attorney-General, Suella Braverman QC MP, to discuss the role of the law in ensuring a safe society.
Justice Week (24-28 February 2020), a joint initiative by the Bar Council, Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx) and The Law Society and aims to boost the profile of justice and the rule of law.
This year, the initiative's focus is on helping to build young people’s understanding for the rule of law and increase their understanding of the relationship between their lives, Parliament, the government and the justice system.
Justice Week will also see schools hosting A Big Legal Lesson, a short film on how the law is being used to help protect the environment, a legal hackathon and a series of Justice Papers which explain how the law was used in high profile cases.
Lucy Allan MP said:
“I am pleased to show my support for Justice Week as it raises awareness amongst young people including those in Telford about how the law in this country works and the importance our justice system plays in everyday life.”
