Today in Parliament, Lucy asked the Health Secretary about what he is doing to improve cancer diagnoses and survival rates in the UK.
The Health Secretary recognises that the UK has poorer outcomes of cancer diagnoses and survival rates compared to other countries and stated that he is working on a new vision to improve the outcome of cancer patients across the UK. Many constituents have contacted Lucy directly to complain about unsatisfactory care when dealing with cancer diagnoses.
One of Lucy's main priorities in Parliament is to prioritise patient care across the NHS and to ensure that there is value for money for the tax payer, particularly with the upcoming health and social care levy being introduced. This increased level of care is something that Lucy wants to ensure all of Telford's residents have access to.
Lucy will continue to closely follow progress in this area to ensure the NHS, its management and its outcomes are held to account.
