Today, Lucy Allan MP met with the Chief Executive of the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital Trust, Louise Barnett, Director of Transformation Chris Preston and senior clinicians to discuss new proposals for hospital reconfiguration in Shropshire.
The meeting explored the scope of the proposed 24/7 A&E local model at the Princess Royal Hospital and the services that will be provided locally. Lucy was grateful to SaTH’s new leadership team and clinicians for their focus on better health outcomes for Telford residents.
Delivering better healthcare for Telford residents is a priority for Lucy as the local MP.
Lucy Allan MP said:
I really welcomed the valuable opportunity to hear first-hand from senior clinicians about the revised Transformation Plan. I am grateful to them for giving up so much time to discuss the implications for Telford.
The new management is focused on what a 24/7 A&E local model will comprise and the local services that Telford residents need.
It’s clear that we cannot go on as we are, anyone who has been to A&E will tell you that.
There is money from Government to deliver change. I am pushing for Same Day Emergency Care at PRH to be part of the 24/7 A&E local model; if we can secure that too, as part of the Transformation Plan, that would be a game changer.
