Local Veteran Eddie Mansfield will be shortly gifted a plaque on Telford’s new Veteran Trail. The Veteran Trail is composed of a series of plaques commemorating veterans, serving armed forces personnel and their loved ones to celebrate those who have dedicated their lives to service.
Eddie has devoted a lifetime to service in three branches of the armed forces and spent time as a civilian instructor for the Air Training Corps. He has also been closely engaged with the local branch of the Royal British Legion and founded regular breakfast clubs to bring veterans in Telford together.
The Prime Minister awarded Eddie with a Points of Light award in 2021 and this latest honour, of a plaque on the Telford Veteran’s Trail, is a fitting tribute to one of Telford’s most dedicated veterans.

“I am so pleased that Eddie’s lifetime of service will be immortalised on the amazing Telford Veterans Trail, which was opened by Her Majesty the Queen in March.
Situated at the heart of the Town Park, I would recommend a visit to anyone interested in learning more about Telford’s proud contribution to the armed forces.”
