Schools across Telford have been instructed to re open as normal after the Christmas holidays.
Teachers in Telford have gone above and beyond to meet the challenges of Covid and Lockdown and to try and give young people in their care the best possible experience in the horrendously difficult circumstances all schools have faced.
I am very grateful to all those involved in keeping schools open and in helping children through some very difficult experiences, that will stay with them for life. Thank you for all you are doing and all you have had to struggle with both at work and at home. You have been heroic.
Given how vital education is to the future of our young people, Government has prioritised reopening schools. All schools are to re open after the Christmas holidays, except in those areas where there are extreme levels of community infection. Telford has low levels of community infection and Government Scientists have said it is safe to return. Telford schools should re open as normal.
I know how much teachers, parents, children and Governors want to re open and keep doing the fantastic job they are doing by our children. More Government info here
