The Chair of the Education Select Committee, Robert Halfon MP, has written to Lucy to endorse the new digital hub planned by the Telford Towns Fund Board, in collaboration with Telford College and the University of Wolverhampton.
As a member of the Towns Fund Board, Lucy has advocated a plan for Telford that focuses on skills training and opportunities for young people. Telford College has long been a key stakeholder for the town, investing beyond its campus to ensure that young people across the town have access to high quality courses and apprenticeships.
The Chair has praised the College's commitment to creating opportunities for young people through apprenticeships and qualifications.
Lucy Allan MP said:
"I am very pleased to have received this letter of endorsement from the Chair of the Education Select Committee. As a former member of the Committee, I know that Robert Halfon MP is one of the biggest advocates of skills training and apprenticeships in Parliament.
"This endorsement is a clear indicator that the proposed new digital and skills hub will benefit the residents of Telford, and I will continue to work with the other members of the Towns Board to make this proposal a reality."
